Trippier and Bowen are out of England’s match in North Macedonia

Jarrod Bowen and Kierrod Trippier will not be playing in England’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against North Macedonia.

Newcastle’s right-back 33 will not play in the match on Monday after returning to his home country for a family issue.

England’s account, formerly Twitter, stated: “Trippier will not be travelling to North Macedonia due to a personal issue.”

Bowen, who suffered an injury during training in the morning and was subsequently ruled out of match by Gareth Southgate later that day.

Southgate stated: “Unfortunately, Jarrod suffered an injury.

We don’t believe it will be serious, but we would not take any risks in this situation.

This is just the latest of a series of players who have left Gareth Southgate’s squad in this period of international football, such as Jude Bellingham Levi Colwill, and Lewis Dunk.

On Sunday, the Three Lions only had 22 players for their final qualifier game in Skopje.

Southgate’s team had already booked their spot at next year’s finals, which will be held in Germany. Trippier played the entire 90-minute match against Malta on Friday.

Southgate is left with fewer options for full-backs after Walker’s departure, as he was the last option to choose from on the right. There were no recognized left-backs in the initial squad.

Fikayo Toori played the same role against North Macedonia as he did in the match at Wembley.

Newcastle will play Chelsea the following Saturday (November 25), while West Ham takes on Burnley.
