Transfer Talk: City’s flop Phillips to reject Juve and join Toons

The midfielder Kalvin Philips of Manchester City is eager to move on loan in January, and is interested in Newcastle.

Phillips (27) joined Pep guardiola’s team from Leeds back in July 2022, but has only made 29 appearances.

The contract he has with Etihad runs until 2028, and it appears that a short-term exit is necessary to ensure his spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

Juventusare keen to sign the 30-cap International, yet Calciomercato claim they’ll be pushed out of the negotiations by the Magpies.

The St James’ Park bosses were alerted to Howe’s thin squad after consecutive 2-0 defeats away to Borussia Dortmund and Bournemouth, both in Champions League.

Toons are also considering the Julian Brandt, who scored in BVB’s win over Toon on Tuesday.

Arsenal, according to The Mirror are also interested in signing the German international for the English Premier League.
