Chelsea manager Mauricio pochettino added Napoli’s and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen star to a possible recruitment list in January.
Blues lack firepower on attack, but have still scored 11 Premier League Goals in just eight Premier League games this season.
According to ESPN, Pochettino likes the 24-year-old goal scorer Osimhen who already has six Serie A goals for 2023-24.
Brentford’s Ivan Toney could be another choice for Chelsea. However, the England international is not eligible to return before January as he hasn’t played since May when he was banned.
Toney and Osimhen will likely require a large sum of money to lure them from their clubs. Their current contracts run until 2025.
Osimhen is regarded as Europe’s top striker and, although recently he fell out with Napoli due to a negative social media posting, it seems likely that he will command somewhere around the PS100million price tag.
The Italian champions have reportedly made advances to him about a contract renewal, which gives the Blues new hope they will be able to lure him in January.
Chelsea is currently 11th place in the Premier League, and nine points back of leader Tottenham.
