Ethan Hamilton’s goal in the 89th minute earned Lincoln its first victory under Michael Skubala.
Hamilton received a pass by Lasse Sorensen, and he misfired Orient keeper Sol Brynn in this rearranged match that was a dull affair.
Hakeeb Adelakun, who had a chance to score five minutes sooner when he was free on the right side of the pitch but only needed the goalkeeper for a shot at the post, missed it wide.
Lukas JENSEN, Imps’ shot-stopper, came to Ruel Sotiriou’s rescue four minutes later when he dived at the effort.
In the first-half, the visiting goalkeeper made a double fine save to stop Brandon Cooper. He then stooped quickly to prevent Aaron Drinan from grabbing the ball.
The two sides both showed a lot of effort, but lacked the flair or spark to overcome their opponents’ defences.
After the half-time break, the play was largely unchanged. It was only in the final stages of the match that things really got going.
Orient was leading 1-0 when the match was called off after 82 mins due to a medical issue. Os fan Derek Reynolds had suffered a heart attack and was treated at the pitchside.
The following day, Reynolds’ death was announced. A minute of silence was held in honour of Reynolds before the rearranged match.
