Tyler Cordner’s and Will Davies’ goals in the first half helped York to a 2-0 victory over Oxford City.
Cordner’s long-range strike in the final six minutes of play showed that there were no negative effects on the hosts from their Saturday loss against Hartlepool.
City travelled to the north after two consecutive victories but were unable to make any inroads. Both Davies and Dipo Akinyemi almost increased the lead of the home team.
After 18 minutes, Davies scored from close distance and York finished the second half in relative comfort.
