- Kiwior has been linked to a possible return on loan to Serie A
- AC Milan, Roma, and Atalanta all want him
- The Premier League has seen a defender play 182 minutes this season
The 90min report says that Arsenal is willing to allow Jakub Kiwior to move on loan, as the player wants to be able to play in first team football.
A reported PS21m was paid by the 23-year old to Spezia, an Italian club during January 2023. He signed a contract that runs through 2027.
Mikel Arteta was expecting the Polish defender to play a bigger role this season after he filled in for William Saliba, who had been injured.
Kiwior spoke to Sky Sports about his Arsenal ambitions before the 2023/24 start of the season. He stated that he wanted to be in the first team.
We have some excellent players. It is a very competitive environment. “I’m glad that I can compete with players of such high quality,” he said. Even if I am not chosen in the first line-up I will still do my best. “I’m always happy to be able help my team. I don’t see the competition as a bad thing.”
Saliba has returned from injury, but Arteta is still relying on Gabriel and Saliba to play Premier League together.
90min Understands that Arsenal is happy with Kiwior’s progress, and they are not in a hurry to move him along. However, he may be considering a move to Italy on loan as he would like to play more frequently.
Kiwior’s possible availability alerted a few Serie a teams. Sources confirmed that AC Milan AS Roma, and Atalanta were all interested in signing him on a short-term basis.
Milan desperately need defensive reinforcements for the winter transfer window, with Pierre Kalulu sidelined due to a problem with his patellar tendon. Due to their defensive issues, the Rossoneri are the club with the lowest goal difference in Serie A’s top six. They have also conceded twice as many goals as title rivals Juventus (7) and Inter (6).
Kiwior, 23, could make a smart addition to the defence. He has previously had a good spell in Italy where he impressed in 43 matches for Spezia.
