Mohamed Salah may leave Merseyside next summer for Saudi Arabia, and Liverpool needs to prepare for this.
In the previous transfer window the Egyptian superstar was heavily linked with Al-Ittihad, but the Reds rejected a PS150million bid.
Jurgen Klopp may try to recruit a replacement forward for Salah in January, as a fresh bid is likely at the end this season.
We look ahead to the Liverpool derby match with Everton that takes place today and consider which players might move to Anfield next year.
Leroy Sane
Leroy Sane is off to a great start in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich. He has scored six goals so far this season.
Liverpool fans are familiar with Germany’s international footballer, who has spent the last four years in Manchester City. Merseyside is now linked to a transfer.
In 2018-19, he scored 16 goals in all competitions.
Sane could improve on that number if he continues to play at a high level. Harry Kane’s arrival in Bavaria will be a boon for Sane.
Liverpool will be interested if Salah decides to move. The 58 cap ace was ranked number one in the division in terms of completed take ons (36).
Bryan Mbeumo
Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo could tick many of Liverpool’s boxes.
Since the Bees were promoted to Premier League in 2021, the 24-year-old striker has shown his ability at this level. He scored nine goals during last season’s top flight and four more so far this year.
Mbeumo, like Salah, plays on the left flank with Brentford and is a player who has an excellent foot.
Pedro Neto
Pedro Neto, another up and coming Premier League talent has had a strong start with Wolves.
At the age of 23, the 23-year-old Portuguese international has just started his fifth season in England’s top division. He is tied with James Maddison, and Kieran trippier for the most assists (5).
Neto is a versatile player who can play on the right and left flanks.
Wolves manager Gary O’Neil stated earlier this season: “He’s going to be hugely valuable for us. He’s fantastic, talented, and works extremely hard both with the ball, as well as adding quality. So I’m very pleased with Pedro.”
