Torres on the Toon radar as injuries continue

Ferran Tores, a Barcelona winger, has been attracting the attention of Newcastle as their injury woes continue.

In recent weeks, the Magpies were without a number of key players, including Dan Burn and Harvey Barnes.

The lack of depth in the Tynesiders squad, which is competing in four tournaments this year, has started to affect results.

Eddie Howe’s team is bottom in their Champions League Group and has only won 2 of their 5 Premier League games, including a 2-0 loss to Bournemouth the last time around.

Spanish Sources say the Toon are looking for attacker reinforcements in January when the transfer window is open. Torres will be a top target.

The 23-year old joined Barcelona in December 2021 from Manchester City but failed to meet expectations in LaLiga.

Xavi’s Blaugrana could be tempted by a good offer from St James’ Park, but it might prove hard to recoup their PS46million investment.

Newcastle could close a deal to bring an end to their trophy-less streak, with Barnes out of action and Miguel Almiron suffering a recent injury.
