Real Madrid has confirmed that Vinicius junior suffered “a tear in the femoral muscles” on his left side during Brazil’s loss to Colombia.
Gabriel Martinelli scored the first goal in Brazil’s FIFA World Cup qualifier 2026 against Colombia on Thursday at Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez. Twenty minutes later Vinicius was hobbling off with an apparent thigh injury.
After his replacement, Brazil fell apart and lost the match thanks to Luis Diaz’s brace in the second half.
Vini said that he believed the injury to be the same as a thigh injury which had kept him off the field for one month during the first game of 2023/24. He stated: “I believe it is the same injury.” It hurt after I was hit. We will test me on Friday to see how well I do.”
