Motherwell 1-2 Hearts: Shankland brace sees visitors win

George Thomason, a former Bloomfield Road youth player, scored an incredible 74th minute winner for Bolton to give them a 1-0 Skybet League One victory over Blackpool before 24,238 fans at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

The sixth consecutive win for Wanderers in all competitions is extra special to Ian Evatt, who played seven years with Seasiders and helped them reach the Premier League.

Evatt is now aiming to take the Trotters in the Championship.

The home team was second-best for most of the first half. After only three minutes, Karamoko Demobele shot against the post as Neil Critchley’s team strove to stop Bolton’s unbeaten run.

The Trotters, however, grew in confidence and Randell hit the post with a corner kick before Dan Grimshaw was forced into a poor save.

Bolton, which had not beaten Blackpool since 2014 in the league, continued to be in control, with Grimshaw denying Dion Charles twice.

CJ Hamilton wasted a good chance after 69 mins via James Husband’s cross, before Thomason scored with a left-footed shot.
