Arsenal Captain Martin Odegaard will make his return against Brentford at the weekend.
Odegaard missed Gunners’ last three matches because of concussion protocol, after being struck in the face with a ball during training.
Norway’s midfielder has been duly excluded from the squad ahead of its games against the Faroe Islands and Scotland.
Odegaard also has a hip problem and it was determined that he’d be better off recovering fully at Arsenal.
Last week, the 24-year-old played with players who were not selected by their respective countries to play for them in order to work on his rehabilitation.
Manager Mikel Artseta then gave the players the weekend off and Odegaard used the chance to go back to Norway.
After visiting his family, he went to visit his international team-mates before returning to Arsenal this week to speed up his recovery.
Odegaard is expected to be available for Saturday’s match against Brentford, when Arsenal travels to Brentford.
Gabriel Jesus is also a player the Gunners would like to see in their squad, as he has been back training in Brazil for a while and could be in line to play in Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Argentina.
Jesus is not playing for Arsenal after October 24 when he suffered a hamstring injury in a win of 2-1 over Sevilla.
