Blackpool’s 4-0 win over Shrewsbury was their sixth League One home victory of the year, thanks to Jake Beesley’s two goals.
Jordan Rhodes, the top scorer for the Seasiders, opened the scoring. Beesley then scored either side of Kyle Joseph’s strike. This continued the Seasiders fine home record of 20 points.
After Tom Flanagan fouled Karamoko Dembele, Rhodes had a chance to score his 10th season goal from the penalty spot.
Beesley’s header from CJ Hamilton put the hosts in full control of the game at halftime.
Sonny Carey’s attempt to score was foiled by Marko Marosi who showed excellent reflexes in preventing Beesley from grabbing the rebound.
After 67 minutes, Neil Critchley introduced the summer signing Joseph and he scored his first home goal just seven minutes after.
Beesley scored a 4-0 victory for Shrewsbury after rounding and slipping the goalkeeper.
